After last year’s highly doin’ it, abstract, house monster “Big Air,” Hot Lizard return to the fray of genre shredding, wholesome music. Like “Big Air” an all-star cast of remixers has been especially drafted in from the four corners of the British Isles in order to bring the highest degree of tech quality to you, the consumer. The result is four sides of rather blinding, abstractly groovy techno, with Hot Lizard themselves and Charles Webster really delivering the goodies. Ian O’Brien’s mix is sterling stuff also. The same praise can be piled on Slack City’s “Detox” with its tale of two sides of downright, funky abstraction. Both releases are essential. Chris Orr
