The filter disco sound was very popular between ’94 and ’97. I didn’t care for a lot of it, to be honest. This one was an exception. It’s a fantastic DJ tool that could work the floor hard, so it’s still worth tracking down.

This is one bad sampled disco mixing marathon that builds drops, filters out and back in again and prophesies the eventual death of rock ‘n’ roll with the help of a “Blade Runner’ sample. All this happens on “Time To Die” and this is the cut that you should scoop this slice of plastic for. A driving amalgam samples conspire to completely lay waste whatever dance floor this is played on. If you like house with a more tribal feel then check the B side and then buy. Chris Orr
